About the Event

"Breath" & "Core" are words that get thrown around a lot in classes. You hear phrases like "squeeze your core", "make sure you are breathing", "stabilise your core"... the list goes on and on. But what does it all mean? What are you actually doing if you are squeezing your core and how does that affect your ability to breathe well? Does breathing through your nose or your mouth make a difference to your function and if so - how can we optimise it?

This workshop is going to be a little bit different. We are going to dive deep into the functional core and how it relates to breathing, circulation, digestion and the nervous system. And guess what? There won't be a single sit-up! I want you to understand the vital relationship of the core to the breath and find out why strength is not the primary focus, discovering how to find a balance of support and mobility through the breath!

It will be interactive and beneficial for students and instructors alike. During the workshop we will be covering these subject areas:

  • What does core mean to you?
  • Why do we need it and how does it relate to the rest of our body?
  • Assessing yourself.
  • Core activation movements with the breath.
  • Core relaxation movements with the breath.
  • Opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session.

This course is suitable for all fitness and experience levels. If you attend my classes already - it will make you much more aware when we are relating the breath to movement.

If you have any health or mobility issues and you are not sure if this is for you then please contact and I can advise.
